In the last weeks I looked a bit more in the direction of app development and played around a bit with Android Studio. For some time I had already in mind to develop a small game application which enables the user to play the game "Malawi", originally created mid of the 80th from Gerhard E. Kodys. As I am quite happy with the result I thought: ok, lets publish it in the app store so other people can enjoy the game, too.
I did not expect that nowadays it's becoming so difficult to publish a game:
At the end when you think you have managed it, they are requesting you to do a closed test with at least 12 people willing to install and to test the application on their own android devices for at least two weeks giving you feedback and report bugs. The issue here is not that you need to know at least so many people having an Android device and account, but they need to be interested in the application you are developing, too. For such a small game I have developed it's probably not a big issue to find people who would like to volonteer, but if you are developing a more specialiced application it will become a big hurdle. I don't know what to do in that case ...
If you are interested in the game here you can find additional information and applying for an testing account.
I will keep you informed how it's going on ...
